The 2019 Range Rover SV Coupe, a nearly $300,000 SUV that Land Rover refers to as the most unique Range Rover ever, debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. This elegant, glamorous and collectible 2-door, 4-passenger SUV will be offered in the fourth quarter this year. U.S. prices starts at $295,000. Hand-built at the Special Vehicle Operations Technical Center in Warwickshire, United Kingdom, the SV Coupe will have a production run of only 999 units offered internationally.
With apparent historical looks, the SV Coupe is a modern-day take on the iconic Range Rover style that bowed in 1970. The brand-new model features a drifting roofing system design that allows for a panoramic glass greenhouse. The power-close doors are fitted with frameless glass. Exterior colors such as a Contour Graphic style in 4 duo-tones help trigger the uniquely created grille and side vents.
Range Rover stated all of the aluminum exterior panels are brand-new other than for the hood and lower tailgate. A new grille showcases a Brunel Metallic rear mesh and Bright Chrome front mesh, surrounded by a Satin Indus Silver metal. The hood and tailgate script also are handcrafted. New to Range Rover is Liquesence, an optional liquid metal exterior paint surface. Clients can select one of 8 exterior paint colors for the SV Coupe, 4 of which are brand-new to Range Rover.
For efficiency and looks, trip height on the SV Coupe is 0.31 inches lower than the basic Range Rover. And with air suspension, the ride height automatically reduces an additional 0.6 inches at speeds of 65 miles per hour, increasing stability and aerodynamics. Four alloy wheel alternatives are offered, varying from 21- to 23-inches, the latter being the largest offered by Range Rover for the first time.
The ultra-premium and crafted look and feel is evident in the interior, where purchasers will have lots of options to tailor the SV Coupe. For instance, there are 4 front-to-back, light-to-dark, contrasting interior colors offered or purchasers can select from single tone schemes. The options are complemented by one of three wood veneers, consisting of a new Nautica veneer that fuses walnut and sycamore, on the steering wheel rim and center console. A 10-inch infotainment screen, 10-inch control panel, 12-inch interactive driver display screen and Head Up display screen help the motorist navigate.
The SV Coupe’s semi-aniline front leather seats feature a special diamond quilt style and are heated and cooled with 20-way power modification. The rear seats feature 10-way adjustable positions. Clients also can select one of 7 style packs that feature exterior paint, bespoke badges and interior products chosen by Jaguar Land Rover designers.
Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, the SV Coupe is the fastest full-size Range Rover. With 557 horse power and 516 lb-ft of torque, the SV Coupe speeds up from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5 seconds flat. Its top speed is 165 mph.
